In just 8 years the Republican party went from being the "Moral Majority", who wanted to keep America "pure" of sin, to a party who glorifies torture (I guess the King George version of the New Testament takes a strong pro-torture stance), defends war-criminals, and puts hatred b …

Intolerance I don't want to be hostile. I don't want to be dismal. But I don't want to rot in an apathetic existance either. See I want to believe you, and I want to trust and I want to have faith to put away the dagger.

I already know the kind of response I am going to get, and unfortunately it won't be answers to my questions. Instead it will be questions about my patriotism, sanity, and whatnot.

There are around 146,000 US forces in Iraq. A marine battalion, of about 1,000 troops, would go home on schedule in November and not be replaced. An army brigade of between 3,500 and 4,000 troops would leave in February.

As long as we elect people who are willing to do their job, we are protected from any Nazi takeover. For you to suggest locking up massive amounts of people based on ANY ideology, is just @!$%#ing unAmerican and disgusting. Nobody locked you up while the GOP had the majority, but you think you can lock them up just because you won an election? Get real, kid. It doesn't work that way. I don't want to see anyone but criminals locked in any kind of prison, and the fact that you have this desire is disturbing. Maybe it's time you find a new country to live in, we don't need you here, amigo.
best comment that i have seen from you!
Of course you don't have to believe me and I'm happy that the government has not interfered with any children in your life or anyone you know. But it does happen. My daughter has been living with someone else for years now. Now I'm am not going to say that I don't have my issues or that I believe a jury would definitely give me my family back. And of course there are times when authorities need to take children from their home or from their parents. A trial by jury is a part of due process which is required when a substantial interest is at stake to protect the state from mistakenly or unjustly depriving someone of that interest; I think families fall into that category. But the state does not think so. The state simply has to think that ones child is better off living somewhere else. And without a trial by jury the state maintains all the power leaving parents, the people, with none.

to Mars313; In the great USA parents can have their children taken away, sometimes permanently, without ever being charged or convicted of any abuse or crime. They do not receive a trial by jury, which would protect their rights, and the state doesn't even need to present any evidence. If this is tolerated then what's next???

Mars, These put downs of others make it seem as if you think you are better than those who believe in GOD. That's all I meant. Pride goes before destruction and arrogance before a fall. (Proverbs 16:18)
